everywhere because it cannot be. governor christie postponed it. it will be moved to monday, november 5th to protect new jersey's young trick or treaters. crews were fixes falling power lines. nearly two million households in new jersey are still without electricity today. in reference of how much of the country that means, even if there was one person in each household without pour, even if it was just one, it would mean there are more people in day three of no power in just new jersey than the population of each of these states marked on the map. this is a huge number of americans here. it's nots over, it's not done, it's not past tense. widespread flooding is still present. we talked about hoboken last night. it's directly across the hudson river. it's small but has 50,000 people in it. as of last night, the mayor told through was as much as 20,000 people still stranded in deep, impassable, and increasingly polluted flood waters. the national guard did get to some of those people. we'll have more about that dramatic situation in just a moment. the national guard also arrived in swa

state's governor chris christie saying any rescue operations will have to wait until sunrise. people along delaware's coastline have filled emergency shelters after the state's governor, jack markil asking for evaluation. firefighters say four unoccupied buildings have collapsed. no one was injured. at least 2 million people have lost power. five deaths have been report in new york state with deaths reported in new jersey, pennsylvania, connecticut, maryland and west virginia. trains, subways and bridges shut down. at least two major commuter tunnels and some subway tracks have been flooded. airlines have cancelled so far, at least 12,000 flights because of sandy. this afternoon, president obama said officials t after the stor. >> we have prepositioned assets so that fema personnel are working closely with state and local governments. we're making sure that food and water and emergency generation is available for those communities that are going to be hardest hit. transportation is going to be tied up for a long time. and probably the most significant impact for a lot of people in ad

no less than chris christie, a lot of political mechanician is read into that one. as a new jersey resident, you take it wherever you can. earlier today, if you are chris christie looking for financial health, gorman and his job was offering id you ticket and run with it. today the two men during damaged areas. so many of the places that made new jersey one of the cost is clean of states in the country. now, back to florida and this race and how things stand. i want to bring you up-to-date on the latest poll. these are some shockers. we have always told you. my body with and we will be hearing shortly, it is as tight as a tape. is pretty much confirms it. 46-46. that is called a tie. now take a look at the approval and disapproval this is getting on the president and how he's doing on the economy. 45 percent are approving of the job is doing. 52 percent are not. i should say that approval rating has edged up. this could be, perhaps, the more distressing news for at least mitt romney. he still leads among independent voters by 7 percent, but that has gone down from 12% that he enjoy

flooded homes. bulldozers and national guard removing heavy debris from the streets. chris christie has said new jersey's 83-mile shoreline remains the most damaged that he's ever seen anywhere. one of the hardest hit areas to the north of us, point pleasant beach. let's send it up to ron allen who has the latest from there. ron. >> reporter: what was the patio of a restaurant here along the beach front, i think i'm standing on what's left of the roof right now. this is an example of the kind of damage you see up and down the jersey shore. if you pan inside here, you see that it is completely destroyed. the waters and sand came racing up here, the sand inside is about two or three feet deep. the irony of all this, if you look way inside there, there are some things on the shelf there, some napkins and ketchup bottles and cups that were undisturbed. but this area is a complete loss. coming back this way, this is an area that was supposed to be protected. out here along the ocean, there was a high sand dune just beyond the fence that used to be tlchl the sand dune was about 12 feet hi
